Guy on right saw “Rambo 2”
RAMBO III—–grunting his way into Afghanistan to battle Soviets, the irate shirtless killing machine made this 1988 junk one of the most violent movies ever (surpassed and then some 20 years later with the 4th, the simply titled–and much better- Rambo). There’s dumb, and then there’s this $60,000,000 jump into the idiot pool. Directed by Peter MacDonald, with Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Kurtwood Smith and Marc de Jonge. 101 minutes of carnage, it grossed $189,000,000.
Irony, something those who wallow in this tripe can’t grasp, recalls that during WW2, several movies were made extolling our ally-of-necessity, the USSR. During the postwar anti-Red witchhunt days, the makers of those films—done at the behest of the government and with patriotic motives behind the b.s.—were called anti-American and many were blacklisted. Since this movie champions the mujahadeen, perhaps a new tribunal is in order? Blowback is a bitch.
